| On Friday, August 27, 2010, Audubon Canyon Ranch hosted a bench dedication ceremony in honor of Carolyn Timmins at the Martin Griffin Preserve (formerly the Bolinas Lagoon Preserve). Carolyn was an active and dedicated ACR volunteer. She graduated from the Martin Griffin Preserve Docent Training Program in 1991 and also became a reserve Ranch Guide. Carolyn served ACR as a volunteer for 17 years.
Carolyn was an avid environmentalist and also graduated from the Environmental Forum of Marin in Forum XVII. Additionally, she was a member of ACR’s Clerin Zumwalt Legacy Circle—generously bequeathing a charitable portion of her estate to Audubon Canyon Ranch at the time of her death on February 13, 2008.
The dedication ceremony was well attended by Carolyn’s friends, as well as her brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Colby. Representatives of Carolyn’s various volunteer commitments spoke about the time they spent with Carolyn, sharing touching memories with the gathered crowd.
The event was truly a celebration of Carolyn Timmins’ life and love of nature, and we are grateful she was a part of the ACR community.
