Springtime has
arrived on the preserves of Audubon Canyon
Ranch. The herons and egrets have returned to their
nesting home at the Bolinas Lagoon Preserve, and the
meadows of the Bouverie Preserve in Glen Ellen are
bright with color.

"It seems like they are doing
tricks!"
What do you see when you visit Audubon Canyon
Ranch? Captured on film is the experience of
students from Oakland's Thurgood Marshall
Elementary School on a class visit last spring.

Birders - Seasoned and Fledgling
- Needed! HEP, the Heron and Egret
Program of Audubon Canyon Ranch, needs volunteers to
help monitor nesting sites throughout the North Bay this
spring. Volunteers adopt a colony, then track
nesting activities of Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets,
Snowy Egrets and Black-crowned Night-herons from
now through June. No experience necessary, though
access to a spotting scope a plus!
