"RANCH GUIDES" NEEDED TO STAFF BOLINAS LAGOON PRESERVE
December 1, 2007-Stinson Beach, CA - Audubon Canyon Ranch (ACR), a leader in conservation science, habitat restoration and hands-on environmental education programs, seeks nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts to volunteer to serve as "Ranch Guides" at its Bolinas Lagoon Preserve during the 2008 Public Season (March 15- July 13, 2008).
Ranch Guides are a critical and unique resource at Bolinas Lagoon Preserve because they interpret for visitors nature's events as they unfold, as well as answer questions about the natural history and wild inhabitants of Bolinas Lagoon Preserve. ACR's Ranch Guides are stationed at various locations through-out the 1,000-acre Bolinas Lagoon Preserve on weekends during the annual nesting season and return of hundreds great blue herons and egrets.
ACR's 2008 Ranch Guide Training begins with an orientation meeting for prospective volunteers on Saturday, January 19, 2008. Additional Saturday training classes continue January 26, February 2, February 9, February 16, February 23, March 2, March 8 and March 15.
The cost of ACR Ranch Guide Training is $25 to cover training materials. Scholarships are available by request.
ACR's Bolinas Lagoon Preserve is located 30 miles north of San Francisco on Highway 1 (3 miles north of Stinson Beach).
To register for ACR Ranch Guide training, call 415-868-9244 or email acr@egret.org.
