Audubon Canyon Ranch to acquire new preserve in
Sonoma County
Audubon Canyon Ranch has signed a collaborative agreement
to acquire the 1,725-acre Modini Ranch property through a planned
giving arrangement with current owners Jim and Shirley Modini. ACR is
honored the Modinis have entrusted us to protect this special part of
California's natural heritage.
The property is located in Sonoma County's Mayacamas
Mountains near Healdsburg. ACR will conduct conservation-based
scientific research and identify habitat protection opportunities, in
keeping with ACR's mission to preserve the land as a sanctuary for
native plants and animals.

ACR's long-time Executive Director to transition from
his role, search for new leader underway
After 34 years, Skip Schwartz will transition from his
role as Audubon Canyon Ranch's Executive Director. In January 2010,
Skip will be stepping away from the day-to-day management of
operations. Skip will continue in a part-time role with ACR, working on

Audubon Canyon Ranch will extend our tradition of
exceptional leadership and is beginning a search for the right person.
You can help us find ACR's next Executive Director by reviewing the job

In response to a strategic plan that focuses on
organizational growth and revenue development, we are pleased to
announce two significant changes to the fundraising team of Audubon
Canyon Ranch.
- Didi Wilson joins us
as the new Director of Development and
Communications. Didi has spent the majority of her
professional career in the non-profit sector, holding multiple
executive and board-level positions. Didi is a longtime resident
of Marin County and an avid hiker, painter and
beachcomber. Welcome, Didi!
- Congratulations
to Cassie
