ACR Advisor Gordon Bennett receives

2008 Environmental Leader of Marin Award

Gordon Bennett of Inverness, CA, has been named the recipient of 2008 Environmental Leader of Marin by the Environmental Education Council of Marin (EECOM).

Through efforts that span Marin County, Gordon has been a strong voice in a range of environmental causes. As a shorebird surveyor with ACR's Cypress Grove Research Center and as a member of ACR's Board of Advisors, Gordon has been a strong advocate of habitat preservation.

His work beyond ACR includes working with the Sierra Club Bay Chapter Executive Committee, the Highway One/Lone Tree Slide Technical Advisory Committee, the West Marin Waste Brigade, and the Open Space District-Bolinas Wildlife Disturbance Committee.

The award ceremony will take place during a cocktail reception at the Mill Valley Community Center on Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at 6:30 pm. For more information, contact EECOM.

Audubon Canyon Ranch is grateful to Gordon for his leadership and steadfast support, as well as to Dr. Marty Griffin, ACR founder and recipient of the 2007 Environmental Leader of Marin Award.
