Basketry Plants of Pine Flat

We'll look into basketry plants of the Pine Flat area, current condition, and cultural management possibilities. We may compile data on vegetation and collect wildflower and grass seed for associated restoration work.

Hike & Stewardship at Pine Flat (about 8 miles up Pine Flat Road), where we’ll look at the age of trees and shrubs that were killed by the 2004 Geysers Fire, and we’ll look at the age and size of new resprouts and seedling.

Field Botany Friday and Pigs

Come for a hike around Redhill and Pine Flat. We’ll focus on collecting native seeds (grasses, clovers, ...) for planting and seeding onto the pig-tilled sites, and we’ll talk of tilling by grizzlies and by the Wappo.
