April 30, 2017 - 9:00am to 3:00pm
  • Modini Mayacamas Preserves

Join this excursion to see wildflowers of the Modini Mayacamas Preserves, one of the wildflower hotspots of Sonoma County. We'll stop at numerous places along the road, and then we'll hike to the top of Redhill (a 3-mile loop) looking for the first of the fawn lilies, baby blue-eyes, hounds-tongues, and others. You'll also learn about the ecology of the wildflowers, their pollinators, and their uses by wildlife and people.

Recurs monthly through August.

Hike leader: Dave Self, ACR Resource Ecologist.

Tickets: $20 non-member / $15 member or student / FREE for children under age 18. Fees support the preservation, education and conservation science programs of Audubon Canyon Ranch. Learn more about membership.

The Modini Mayacamas Preserves This private nature sanctuary, owned and managed by Audubon Canyon Ranch, has a range of different public access opportunities. Pine Flat Road, a public county road with pullouts, meanders through the preserve, allowing visitors to enjoy the views and birdwatching from roadside pullouts anytime without appointment. Please drive very cautiously, this is a one lane winding road with very limited sight lines.
