Promoting a conservation ethic in people of all ages is central to our mission of Conservation in Action. Please join us on the preserves to explore seasonal changes, take part in naturalist training or dig in with other volunteers to assist our land management team. Reservations are required for most events in order to ensure that human impact is kept in balance with land and habitat preservation goals.

Audubon Canyon Ranch Event Calendar

Fern Friday

Jan 12 2018 - 9:00am to 2:00pm
Modini Mayacamas Preserves

Meet the ferny sporophytes of nine local fern species on an excursion along Pine Flat Road with ACR Education Specialist Dave Self. We’ll also take a short hike (two miles) to visit the ridgeline serpentine of Red Hill to find our tenth and last species and to see if we can spot any of it’s tiny green gametophytes. You’ll learn a bit about the ecology and life-cycles of this ancient lineage too.

Click here to buy tickets on Eventbrite.

Tickets: $20 non-member / $15 member or student / FREE for children under age 18. Fees support the preservation, education and conservation science programs of Audubon Canyon Ranch. Learn more about membership.
